I banished all banana clips from my sight back in the mid-1990s following a particularly tragic incident involving a bad perm and falling asleep with bubble gum in my mouth. Not pretty. I’m not sure I can deal with their resurgence in popularity, should it arrive soon.

And you’re quite right….Ace of Spades wasn’t ACDC but Motorhead. I can’t do ze Umlauts all fancy like you do.

mmmmm . . . mooseknuckle. I don’t know exactly *when* it happened, but apparently after numerous years of involuntarily abstaining from sex this has become a turn on rather than a turn off. Go figure.

Yeah, I love Journey too – that was my very first real concert. I’ve also been listening to them surprisingly often lately. Gewd stuff.

Fun hairdo! It’s just a matter of weeks before that look is all the rave again – what I’m saying is, keep the banana clip handy.

Isn’t Ace of Spades by Motörhead? Were you jammin the Motörhead?! w00t!

Now, I have to confess 2 things:

1) I love, LOVE Journey. Love them. Not so much Steve Perry’s mooseknuckle, but everything else, yes.

2) Yesterday I let my hair stay all curly and decided to wear it up in a “Pebbles” sorta hairdo, all poufy on top, just for the sheer retro thrill of it all. I looked a lot like an early-twentysomething Ding. I then pranced around a little while to “Ace of Spades” by ACDC.

I gotta say, it was a strange feeling to read Ali’s blog and see pictures of friends among all of the mocking commentary. I was hanging out with Rob (lead singer for Midnight Circus) just last night. He pretty much saves all of the lost-in-the-80s shtick for shows – last night he was wearing jeans, black t-shirt and no make-up. Really nice guy. Hmm, I guess I have a few really close lost-in-the-80s type friends. Never really thought about it like that before.

Although I don’t think I qualify as LIT8s myself, I do find myself at events such as the one Ali attended on a pretty regular basis. Those shows are always fun to go to and people watch though fo sho. Very interesting indeed. I still love me some 80s hair band rock every now and then. I was never into Poison, but there are definitely some shows coming this summer (Journey) that I want to check out!

Holla @ Ali! It was awesome to see her get a mention.

I WILL be at the Journey, et al show in August here in NY. I don’t know exactly what will crawl out of the woodwork for it, but I’ll report back.

I hate Ali for getting that song in my head now. Especially right before bed!
