Friday Diatribe
Actually, I’m fresh out of venom today. I haven’t been posting due to being in Portland, OR over a long weekend for the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival. For the non-geeks out there, it’s a 3-day extravaganza held at an old theater in the Hollywood district of Portland. Most of the films are created by independent artists, and about half of them I would never watch again. The remaining half are either hilarious sendups of the Lovecraft Mythos, or downright bone-chilling. It’s a great place to wear your all-black outfits and try to appear full of ennui and coffee. Takes me back to my Goth days! Ok, more like Goth weeks. I never did have much staying power with trends, although I did tie-dye my underwear in college and tried to be a hippie for about a month. Didn’t take.
